TelOne is pleased to announce a horde of new capabilities on its network owing to the modernization project that has seen an upgrade of all its exchanges.

Because of its ability to bring together a variety of services on one platform, the new network is described as a "convergence".

This new convergence means the coming together of faster internet, clearer voice, value-added services like internet TV service, video conferencing and toll free services.

Through the convergence, TelOne clients connected using any technology (ADSL, Fibre) can enjoy our technology neutral bundles.

Through the convergence, clients can now enjoy flexible packages starting from as little as a $1.

Through convergence, TelOne is now able to offer and support internet TV

Through convergence, TelOne is now able to offer the whole country toll free emergency numbers while clients can also have their own toll free numbers.

Through the convergence, TelOne clients are now able to enjoy public wifi at TelOne hotspots countrywide using their home internet credential and bundles.

For these new convergence capabilities to be realized, part of the work has seen the changing of all the area codes and modifying telephone numbers countrywide. The area codes have been reduced from 195 to just 20 in line with the International Telecommunication Union regulations. The 20 area codes means that some areas that previously had their own area codes are now sharing the same area code. For example, Ruwa whose area code was 0273, Norton 062, Arcturus 0274, Beatrice 065 and Chitungwiza 0270 are all now sharing the same area code with Harare which is 024.

Furthermore, all telephone numbers have also been modified and have different prefixes that have been added to the old numbers.
