Chairman Peter Chingoka confirmed to the Financial Gazette on Monday that the dismissals had been reversed.
"As a board, we resolved to reverse the earlier announcement because we were not consulted," he said.
"There were also other in-house considerations that led and informed the board to this decision, but I cannot discuss that with you," Chingoka added.
The dismissals of the top executives, including operations director Brian Mutandiro and chief finance officer Sibusisiwe Ndlovu, follow a string of scandals that have dogged NetOne since the days of ousted chief executive officer Reward Kangai - who was subsequently replaced by Muchenje, an ex-Vodacom of South Africa executive.
Others who were shown the door, include Cleopas Kadzimu, Solomon Manda, Innocent Mukandatsama, Jennifer Muketiwa and Nancy Murove.
Following the sudden dismissal of 9 executives by Chief Executive Officer, Lazarus Muchenje, NetOne's board members called for an emergency meeting to defuse the crisis.
According to the Business Times, it was no laughing matter as the executives, upon their dismissal, were escorted by security officers out of NetOne's offices.
While Mutandiro - a former acting chief executive of the company - refused to comment on the matter, sources say the 57 year-old was "handed a dismissal letter just days after returning from "a delicate medical procedure".
